Who is Martin Paldan?

I was born in 1972 and began taking pictures in public school. My first SLR was an Olympus OM10, but I have since been through several Nikons, a Leica, a medium format Pentax, a large format Wista before settling with a digital Canon.
I'm married and have two wonderful kids, and make a living out of teaching digital photography and shooting on a freelance basis.
I shoot portraits, still-life, nature, travel, feature, fine-art, sports, lifestyle - actually, why try to categorize...? I love photography and try to make meaningfull and inspiring photos whatever the subject is.
A particular interest in actionsport and the outdoors began during my childhood years, when my parents took me canoing in Sweden, where I got a good taste of being in the wilderness far away from everything. Back home in the suburbs I rode my skateboard and later I got a mountainbike, started climbing, went skiing and even ran a few marathons...

The essence of all these activities is for me the most important thing in life: Being present and having fun. It's that simple.
Taking pictures of people being in the moment and capturing that moment, is my way of being present. It's something between a passion and an obsession...
