Experiments
I always try to experiment, and be open of new ideas, techniques and concepts. Here is a few examples of my recent approaches. This one is a simple experiment with syncronizing a handheld flash with the second shuttercurtain. The photo is far from perfect - but I got the effect I was looking for: The shutter opens first, allowing the light from the headtorches to burn into the picture, followed by a freeze by the flash. This is a series of exposures combined in one picture. I placed the camera on the rocks and made several shots as the climber progressed. The lens was a 15mm fisheye. Then I used photoshop to combine the best shots in one picture.
The climb is 7b and this photo actually captured the climber's onsight of the route! Sardinia, Italy 2008
A long shutterspeed at night is always exciting! I took this picture in Spain, just as the moon was rising behind the horizon. The light was fantastic, and I had the shutter open for about 25 seconds. I did not have a tripod on this trip, so I just placed the camera on the ground with some rocks around it to stabilize. The dynamic wide effect is made with a 15mm fisheye. La Alpujarra, Spain 2008
